Des Moines is surrounded by urban centers, yet retains its distinct small town feel. There are spectacular views of Puget Sound, The Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. A wide variety of recreational activities and facilities are available for adults, families and children. A major marina, several city parks, public beaches and a State Park are all within the city limits. There is a good variety and supply of quality housing still available at relatively affordable prices.
Downtown– is an old fashioned waterfront village; home to restaurants, a major grocery store and unique shops to explore in this pedestrian friendly neighborhood. Offices, medical services and a variety of other retail and service companies can also be found here. This area is adjacent to the Des Moines Marina.
Woodmont– Just south of Saltwater State Park and just west of Hwy 99 the Woodmont area features a beautiful park, Woodmont Elementary and a public library. This community features everything from waterfront homes with community beaches, large view homes on the bluff or a simple ramblers that will satisfy every buyer’s needs.
Redondo – This is the furthest south point of DesMoines. The boardwalk community hosts a public boat launch, a fishing pier, and Salty’s Restaurant one of Seattle finest places to dine. Watch the sun set over the Olympics, see the ferries visiting Vashon Island, spot scuba divers in Puget Sound, or spend the afternoon fishing off the pier. Visit Redondo Beach and its pier and boardwalk and get to know majestic Puget Sound. Redondo is only a few minutes from I-5 and Federal Way is just to the South.
